Senior Laboratory Instructional Spec I - Texas State Job Bank (BROWNSVILLE, TX)

Scope:
Full-time laboratory instructor (12 month appointment) needed to instruct introductory, general, organic chemistry and biochemistry laboratory sections, including night sections.
Duties may also include assisting with the preparation of lab materials and equipment for experiments, maintenance of lab inventories and assisting in the chemistry stockroom.
Other duties include setting up and grading examinations, quizzes, lab reports, and participating in outreach programs and student orientations.
This is a security-sensitive position subject to Texas Education Code 51.
215 which allows the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
Education & Experience
Qualifications:
Master of Science or Ph.
D.
in Chemistry is required with knowledge of basic techniques in a chemistry laboratory setting including operating knowledge of scientific instrumentation.
Three years of responsible experience in University teaching, instruction or a related field.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
